Happy St Georges Day

St George's flag

But did you know… many people believe that St George wasn’t actually English and in fact never actually visited England at all?!? Although most people believe he was born and lived in a little town in Coventry, there appears to be some speculation that suggests this is a fabrication. Regardless of whether or not he was born, lived or died here, he is our celebrated saint here in sunny ol’ England. However, you may be interested to know that St George’s day is celebrated in several other countries; Canada, Valencia, Catalonia, Lebanon, Hungary and several parts of Spain (although not necessarilly on the same day, according to the old calenders, St George’s day actually falls on 6th May).
